Phernology and Palmistry

Phernology and Palmistry

The discoverers end exponents of Phrenology were two German scientists: Franz Joseph Gall, born in the Grand Duchy of Baden, March 9, 1758, who began lecturing on craniology in Vienna in 1796, meeting with great opposition and even persecution on account of his belief in the influence of the brain upon the contours of the skull. He died in 1828. His pupil and associate, Johann Caspar Spursheim, was born at Longrich on the Moselle, December 31, 1776. Their first great book, Anato-mie et Physiologie du Systène Nerveux el du Cerveau en Particulier, came out in Paris in 1810-19; later, Spurzheim, who had settled in London, published The Physiognomical System of Drs. Gall and Spurzheim, based on an anatomical and physiological examination of the Nervous System and the Brain in Particular (London: 1814).

In 1835 W, Lewis translated from the French Dr. Gall's classical work on the subject: On the Functions of the Brain and of Each of its Parts (6 vols).

Case Studies in Medical Palmistry

Case Studies in Medical Palmistry
C. de Saint-Germain SAYS:"These cases, as well as those disseminated through the other Parts of this book, are - many of them - borrowed from Desbarrolles' magnum opus, " Révélations Completes." They have never been translated into the English language and their careful study constitutes, in my opinion, the very best of practice for the student of Palmistry. He finds combined in them many indications scattered through these pages, and he is taught how to generalize the information obtained and to apply it intelligibly. Book definitions are bound to be narrow and on that account somewhat misleading. By broadening them, not recklessly but in moderation, a well trained intelligence will soon know how to give them their full inward meaning. This study of "cases" ought really to precede the examination of "living hands,"

Lines and Signs on the Thumb and Fingers

Lines and Signs on the Thumb and Fingers

C. de Saint-Germain says: The majority of these indications are, however, of a traditional or at least an
empirical nature, and it is not easy to connect them logically with what I like to call "the laws of Modern Palmistry." They are gathered mostly from reputable authors of the old school and deserve respectful study solely on that account. Although met
with but seldom, the rather complete enumeration I give of them may prove of use occasionally, and, without deserving to be memorized, they are valuable for reference purposes, as I never found them collected before in such large numbers.

THE PRACTICE OF PALMISTRY FOR PROFESSIONAL PURPOSES Part IV by C. de Saint-Germain (continued-8) THE PLAIN OF MARS, THE QUADRANGLE – THE TRIANGLE

The Triangle found in the hand of a young person, with the Lines of Fate and the Sun absent - The subject must not be directed toward an artistic or intellectual career; worldly wisdom and superficiality will always stand in the way of success in that direction.

In other words, the existence of the three main lines gives assurance of fair health, good practical ability and plenty of will power, but reveals no brilliant aptitudes. That would go admirably with knotted fingers, square and even spatulate tipped.

Aspects Involving Pluto in the Birth Chart

Aspects Involving Pluto in the Birth Chart

Pluto trine Jupiter

The trine between Jupiter and Pluto produces a powerful exuberance in your nature that allows you to inspire others to their potential, as you likewise are able to achieve your own. You have wonderful organizational skills that can be useful, especially in business, education, and public welfare.

Aspects Involving Neptune in the Birth Chart

Aspects Involving Neptune in the Birth Chart

Neptune trine Venus

The trine formed between Venus and Neptune denotes a highly romantic nature. Artistic talent is very often present, but the will to express this talent may be slow to appear. The ability to handle practical affairs must depend on other factors in the chart. You are apt to have unusual romances or meet your partner under such strange circumstances that you may feel that it may even have been predestined. You are kind and sympathetic toward those in need, but your way of giving help may be impractical. You're too tolerant of people, but you don't think so. You are an idealist likely to have deep spiritual beliefs.

THE ROCKS OF STONEHENGE

FROM WHERE THE ROCKS OF STONEHENGE CAME FROM 5000 YEARS AGO :For centuries, scientists and historians have argued over why
Stonehenge was built and, even more puzzlingly, how. They are now closer to cracking one aspect of the mystery after
working out the exact spot where some of the rocks came from. The 5,000-year-old circle of stones – thought at various times to have been a temple of healing, a calendar, or even a royal cemetery – have been traced to an outcrop 150 miles away in north Pembrokeshire.

THE USE OF FIXED STARS IN ASTROLOGY (THE FULL TEXT OF MY THESIS)

THE USE OF FIXED STARS IN ASTROLOGY (THE FULL TEXT OF MY THESIS)

The use of fixed stars has not been explored and used much in natal astrology for thefollowing reasons:1.

Due to the fatalistic interpretations given from time immemorial, the subject has notaroused keen interest.2.

For historical and intellectual reasons, backed by the judiciary of the times, the studyof astrology and the fixed stars suffered much set back.3.

For many centuries due to lack of transparency in communication and non-availability of literature with easy access on the subject, the utility of this subjectwith a rich heritage was lacking.4.

Changes with the pattern of life and a lack of scientific temperament also stalled the progressive use of fixed stars in astrological interpreations. The main reasons to select this topic on “The Use of Fixed Stars in Astrology” as a subjectfor the thesis written by Mr. A. S. Writer are :1.

To make attempts to bring in a scientific temperament on the subject.2.

To link the subject from the times of the Aryans, the propogators of the knowledgeof the cosmos, the planets and the stars and their related phenomena to the ancientcivilizations, on of which is India, that is Bharat, apart from knowing the philosophicl thoughts of those times.3.

To make attempts to show the authenticity of the knowledge used in theinterpretations of the fixed stars on the lives of human beings. The case studies aredivided into two sections: 1)Celebrated case studies; and 2)Case studies of personswhom he has met personally for a continuous period and noted the events in their lives. After burning the midnight oil for many years together, to collect and go through thelitereature which is not available so easily on this subject, Mr. Writer has done justice to hiswork and provided ample material and case studies to enable interested and serious studentsto use it for further study and research. My experience tells me tht the study and application of the fixed stars along with the natalchart in its totality will enable astrologers to give a new dimension and direction for the betterment of the lives of the common man, so that they could be assisted to acquire theright attitude in times of crises, improve their living status and grow in spiritual knowledge,as was the main aim of our great ancestors who have handed over the message of the stars tous.

THE GATEWAY OF INDIA

THE GATEWAY OF INDIA

The Gateway of India was built to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary to Bombay, prior to the Delhi Durbar, in December 1911. The foundation stone was laid on 31 March 1911, by the Governor of Bombay Sir George Sydenham Clarke, with the final design of George Wittet sanctioned in August 1914. Between 1915 and 1919 work proceeded on reclamations at Apollo Bundar (Port) for the land on which the gateway and the new sea wall would be built.

THE LINE OF FATE OR DESTINY :Fate stands here for Career. Life-work. the Succession of Happenings, fortunate or otherwise, that form the running thread of our existence. On that Use, therefore, we expect to find such notifications as will give us a fairly correct idea. of all that is in store for us - health matters not included, if they are not to interfere with our occupations, ambitions, etc. Over some of these events we may have but little, if any control: but, as I rule, we shall soon discover by what means we may - if we care to - influence for the better the destiny thus outlined. So that, after all, the Line of Fate, in spite of its name, is the one marking in the hand that illustrates best the essential doctrine of free will.

The line of Liver or Mercury or Hepetica is called by many Palmists the Line of Health, and is considered by them simply as an accessory to the Line of Life. While willingly admitting that this line confirms in many instances the promise of longevity revealed in the Line of Life, and while it certainly completes the indications obtained from the third of the Chief Lines concerning the good or bad working of the digestive organs, the Line of Liver ought not to be neglected in the study of the subject's business career, for does it not terminate on the Mount of Mercury and contain all the elements already examined under the heading of this Mount and that of the fourth finger? Here and there we find in the leading chiromantic works observations that can be logically explained only by this reference to the business idiosyncrasies of the Mount of Mercury

After devoting much space to the Signatures of the Mounts and minutely describing - with Desbarrolles - the complete type represented by each predominating Mount - supposing that particular mount to be indisputably above all the other Mounts - it is quite essential that I should say a few words of those types in which two Mounts seem to be about equal in importance and power, This, of course, will be much more frequent than the absolute supremacy of but one Mount, and therefore a clear table of these 28 possible combinations is sure to be very much in demand, and in constant, profitable use.

Besides, have not prominent physiologists stated that the fact of the palm becoming burning hot, in the advanced shape of consumption and in all diseases that arise from organic wasting away through irritation, is sufficient evidence that in the hand exists one of the centers of instinctive life? They have added that, in their opinion, this focus of instinctive life resides in the elevations (or Mounts) under the four fingers, wherein (as well as in the hollow of the hand and at the finger tips) are found, to the numbers of 250 or 300, these Pacinian Corpuscles. which are but agglomerations of nervous matter. These Corpuscles act as condensers of innervation, receiving the vital fluid through the fingers, storing it like reservoirs of electricity and endowing the hand with its surprising sensitiveness, commonly known as the sense of touch. Let me add. to this essential statement concerning the Pacinian Corpuscles, that they do not exist in the monkey's so-called hands and are absent, or very few in number, in the hands of the congenital idiot.

SRI RUDRAM

SRI RUDRAM

The name Rudra is formed out of ru and dru. Ru means cry and dru means move. Therefore Rudra means roaming around crying. This explanation is given in puranas. But Upanishads give different interpretation. The eleven Rudras represent ten sensory organs in the human body and eleventh Rudra is mind says Brhadaranyaka Upanishad. This explanation seems to be logical.

PALMISTRY:ORIGINS AND HISTORY by Mary Louise

Palmistry dates to ancient Egyptians, Chaldeans and to ancient India; it subsequently spread to China,Tibet, Persia and other countries in Asia and Europe. The emperor of China used his thumbprint when sealingdocuments in 3000 BC. Information on the laws and practice of hand reading are found in Vedic scripts, and earlySemitic writings. An ancient text now know as “
The Teachings of Valmiki Maharshi on Male Palmistry
”, consisting of567 stanzas relating all major aspects of palmistry. Gypsy palm readers have their roots in northern India as earlyas 3000 BC; palmistry progressed to Greece, developing with the roots of western thought as we know it today.

Ankh - Crystalinks

Ankh - Crystalinks

The Ankh is defined as: The symbolic representation of both Physical and Eternal life. It is known as the original cross, which is a powerful symbol that was first created by Africans in Ancient Egypt.

The Ankh is commonly known to mean 'life' in the language of Ancient Kemet (land of the Blacks) renamed Egypt by the Greeks. It is also a symbol for the power to give and sustain life, the Ankh is typically associated with material things such as water (which was believed by Egyptians to regenerate life), air, sun, as well as with the Gods, who are frequently pictured carrying an Ankh.

Egyptian gods carried the ankh by the loop, or held one in each hand crossed over their breast. Latinists interpreted the symbol as a crux ansata, "cross with a handle".
